About CEEF
Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation (CEEF) is a charitable, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting partnerships between private funding and public education in Cape Elizabeth. CEEF was formed in 2001 by a group of concerned citizens and educators representing a cross-section of the Cape community. Each year CEEF considers grant applications from teachers, administrators, teacher-student teams, Cape resident-educator teams, and from existing foundations for matching grants. CEEF is committed to fostering innovation and excellence in the Cape Elizabeth school district by:
- Funding initiatives that fall outside the school budget
- Partnering with the school district to help achieve its vision
- Building community-wide support for the benefit of our schools
CEEF committees include Finance, Grants, Nominating & Governance, Strategic Planning, Community Relations and Communications. Currently, Lee Wilson is the Chair of Fundraising, Claire Depke is Chair of Grants, Jack Melanson is Chair of Nominating & Governance, Frank Governali Chair of Strategic Planning, Debbie Fisher is Chair of Community Relations, and Amy Lombardo is Chair of Communications. The 2009 president is Christine Mackenzie, whose blog you can read here.
